GUWAHATI: Two persons have been sent to jail for abuse and assault on police personnel in Guwahati.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, saw two unruly youths being taken into custody after allegedly attacking a policeman from Hatigaon Police Station late at night in a suspected intoxicated state.
The accused, identified as Shahidul Islam and Nabiul Haque from Hatigaon, assaulted the police personnel and hurled abuses in front of the Hatigaon Police Station before being apprehended.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from Hatigaon police station said, “The two were in an inebriated state, we suspect. They did not stop at the Naka checking as requested and started hurling abuses and then assaulted an elder police official. We have forwarded them to the court.”
