Two IPL Matches To Be Held In Guwahati, Dates Yet To Be Announced

 

GUWAHATI: In a boost for sports enthusiasts in Assam, Rajasthan Royals Chairman for Assam, Ranjit Barthakur, has announced that two IPL matches will be held at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati in May. 

The announcement comes amidst the excitement surrounding the 17th edition of the IPL, set to kick off in the country tomorrow.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed that all matches of the 17th IPL will take place in India. Additionally, Borthakur assured cricket fans that Rajasthan Royals would play two matches in Guwahati, and the dates will be announced soon. 

Last year marked the debut of Assam and the North East in the IPL circuit, with the Barsapara Stadium hosting two home matches for Rajasthan Royals against Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals.

Borthakur expressed his personal commitment to hosting matches in Guwahati annually. Rajasthan Royals will commence their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur on March 24.
