Two Arrested For Kidnapping And Robbery In Jalukbari

GUWAHATI: The Jalukbari Outpost police, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, arrested two members of a notorious kidnapping and robbery gang on the night of October 2, 2024. The police tracked the suspects using the CEIR portal, which led to their capture.

The suspects, Faruk Ali (24) and Amir Ali (33), both residents of No-1 Jola Sansari, were arrested for their involvement in a recent abduction and robbery case. 

The arrests follow a kidnapping incident on September 27, 2024, when two passengers, Mukhlal Mistri of Bihar and his son, were kidnapped and robbed after hiring the suspects' taxi near the Jalukbari flyover. The victims were assaulted and robbed of Rs 7,000, mobile phones, and other valuables. 

The vehicle used in the crime has been seized, and further legal actions are underway. The police are also investigating whether the suspects are connected to other similar incidents in the area.

A case has been registered at Jalukbari Police Station and further interrogations are ongoing.
