GUWAHATI: Tripura MLA Dhananjoy has married the woman who had accused him of raping her.
The woman had claimed that she was "socially engaged" with the MLA and further accepted that the MLA had maintained an intimate relationship with her, but later refused to tie the knot.

On May 20, the women lodged a complaint against the MLA at Agartala Women's Police station accusing him of raping and deceiving her by not marrying her. Following the complaint, the MLA was booked for raping the woman.
On 9 June, the MLA tied the knot with the woman at Chaturdas Devata temple near Old Agartala. Both parties had come to the compromise of filing no complaints against each other.
