However, the national flag at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport, Guwahati flew at full mast barring protocol.

As per rule, the national tricolour flies at half-mast during a mourning period at all government institutions and others, and the same notification was also issued by the Office of the Chief Minister on 23rd November.

However, a prominent media house of the state has reported that the national flag at the Guwahati Airport flew at the top during the mourning period, barring the protocol.

G Plus questioned the airport authorities about the issue.

Ramesh Kumar, Airport Director said, "We have rectified the mistake and today (26th November) the tricolour is flying at half-mast in observance of the mourning period. The security team is responsible for hoisting the flag and they did not receive proper orders."

"No clear notification was issued to us regarding the period of mourning or hoisting of the flag," he added.
