GUWAHATI: A traffic police officer from Guwahati went beyond his traffic policing duties to apprehend thieves on three separate occasions.

The traffic police officer identified as Lance Naik Samadul Houque apprehended one pickpocket Raju Nath (31) of Agia, one bicycle thief Samidul Islam (32) of Baghbar & one snatcher Mijanur Khan (28) of Fakirganj at around Jalukbari roundabout on June 11 and 16, while on duty.
Additionally, one stolen bicycle, ₹5600 in cash was recovered due to Hoque’s efforts. Necessary legal action has been initiated against all the suspects.
