GUWAHATI: Guwahati traffic police announced traffic restrictions for construction of a railway overbridge (ROB) along K.R Choudhury Road at Railway Gate No. 9, under Bharalumukh Police Station. The work is scheduled to begin from March 14 and the restrictions will remain in force until the completion of the project. However, the restrictions will not hinder the free movement of emergency vehicles, including ambulances and fire tenders.

As part of the new traffic regulations, vehicular movement will be restricted on the stretch between K.R. Choudhury Road tri-junction and Bharalumukh Police Point. Vehicles travelling from Fatasil Chariali and Santipur towards Bharalumukh Police Point will be redirected at K.R. Choudhury tri-junction, with the option to proceed towards either K.R. Choudhury Road or Santipur Main Road near Pragjyotispur College.
The vehicles using K.R. Choudhury Road will have access to A.T. Road and D.G. Road via K.R.B. Road and B.R.P. Road. Similarly, vehicles coming from M.G. Road and A.T. Road can enter Fatasil Chariali via F.A. Road, B.R.P. Road, and K.R.B. Road.
Furthermore, the stretch of F.A. Road beneath the Athgaon A.T. Road Flyover up to Kumarpara Panchali, passing through Railway Gate No. 6, will be designated as a one-way route. Vehicles will be permitted to travel from M.G. Road and A.T. Road towards Kumarpara Panchali and Fatasil Chariali. However, traffic will not be allowed in the opposite direction from Kumarpara Panchali to A.T. Road.
The roadside parking will be strictly prohibited on both sides of K.R. Choudhury Road, K.R.B. Road, B.R.P. Road, and F.A. Road.
