GUWAHATI: The Assam Special Task Force (STF) arrested three individuals, including a woman, in a fake currency case in Guwahati, on Monday, August 19

The arrests were made during a raid at Khanapara, near the Khanapara ISBT. The raid was part of an ongoing investigation under STF Police Station Case No. 13/2024 U/S- 61(2)/318(4)/62/180/181/111.
Authorities seized fake Indian currency notes (FICN) worth ₹8,32,500, cash totaling ₹1,28,320, and four mobile phones. A car used by the accused was also seized.
The arrested individuals are Sahil Ali (26), also known as Islam Ali, from Kotabari, Gorchuk, Kamrup (M); Ajoy Biswakarma (30), from Barbari Chariali, Dispur, with a permanent address in Sripani, Dhemaji district; and Sumi Bora (24), from Milon Nagar, Titabar, Jorhat district.
Legal proceedings are underway against the suspects.
