GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, Janapath Complex near Beekay Tower, Ganeshguri was targeted by thieves on Tuesday night looting away items worth several lakhs.
Ratul Garments, a clothing store in the complex, bore witness to the aftermath of the burglary. Talking to GPlus, Momraz Khan, the manager of the shop, shared the extent of the losses, stating, "We had ₹80,000 in cash, and clothes worth ₹10-12 lakh that have been stolen."
Another shopkeeper, grappling with the situation, mentioned, "We have not calculated the entire amount, but at least ₹2-3 lakh worth of products is missing."
Although CCTV camera was present at the scene, the shopkeepers said, "This camera is switched off at night so could not capture yesterday's event."
Talking to GPlus, an official from Dispur Police Station said, "All the affected businesses are yet to formally file complaints but we are looking into the matter".
