Tezpur Univ Signs MoU With ICMR For Biomedical Research Collaboration

GUWAHATI: Tezpur University (TU) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Regional Medical Research Centre, Northeast (RMRC-NE) in Dibrugarh signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday, April 28, 2024, to collaborate on biomedical research in priority areas. The partnership aims to address various epidemiological, clinical, and translational aspects of both communicable and non-communicable diseases, with a special focus on diseases of regional importance.

The MoU was signed by Biren Das, Registrar of Tezpur University, and Natarajaseenivasan Kalimuthusamy, Director of ICMR-RMRC, Dibrugarh, with Rajiv Behl, Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Health Research and Director General of ICMR, also present at the ceremony.

Shambhu Nath Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Tezpur University, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration. "This agreement envisions expanding learning and research opportunities for scientific staff, faculties, and students of both Tezpur University and ICMR-RMRC, Dibrugarh," Singh remarked.
