The tallest National Flag in India is likely to be constructed at Gandhi Mandap on Sarania Hilltop. This height will be measured from Mean Sea Level.

The project will be under Guwahati Smart City Limited. Sources in the department said that work is likely to start from May or June 2018.

Guwahati Smart City Limited is also refurbishing Gandhi Mandap, as previously the iconic statue of Mahatma Gandhi made by Ramkinkar Baij was considered for demolition as it presented a “distorted image” of the freedom fighter.

Earlier today, the tallest flag of India was unfurled in Belagavi (also known as Belgaum), Karnakata, but sources in Guwahati Smart City Limited said that the flag in Guwahati is likely to be the tallest.
