Stolen Items Recovered In Noonmati, One Apprehended

GUWAHATI: The police, led by the Officer in Charge (OC) of Noonmati Police Station, undertook an operation resulting in the recovery of stolen items along with the apprehension of one on November 13.

The operation was initiated based on the First Information Report (FIR) lodged on November 13 by Pankaj Kumar, son of Jagat Kumar from Titkuchi. The complaint detailed the theft of a Radio Remote Unit (RRU) valued at approximately ₹1 lakh on November 11, around 02:09 PM from the Airtel Tower.

The authorities tracked down the receiver of the stolen article, identified as Md. Jabed Malik who was apprehended from H/No. 16, South Sarania, near Gandhi Mandap, on the very day of the FIR lodgment, that is November 13.

Upon searching the residence of the accused, authorities found and recovered a significant cache of stolen articles, including six laptops, five batteries, 23 4G Radio Remote Units (RRU), one Baseband Unit, eleven circuits, and approximately 500 meters of wire.

The approximate value of the recovered articles, as assessed by Airtel Officials, is ₹70 lakh. Legal procedures are now being initiated against the accused, and efforts are underway to trace others involved in the theft.
