Special CBI Judge SP Naik-Nimbalkar declined the CBI's plea, stating that the agency did not specify legal provisions under which the court could intervene to prevent the airing of the documentary. The judge emphasised that the court lacked inherent powers to halt the broadcast and granted the CBI the freedom to seek recourse through an appropriate forum.

According to information from IMDb, the docuseries delves into the mysterious disappearance of 25-year-old Bora and uncovers the shocking aftermath of the case. The CBI's application sought directives to prevent the accused and other involved individuals from appearing in the documentary until the conclusion of the ongoing trial.

Bora was allegedly murdered on April 24, 2012, where her mother Indrani Mukerjea, then driver Shyamvar Rai, and ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna were implicated in the crime. The CBI asserted that Sheena's body was disposed of in Pen forest, Raigad district.

The murder came to light in 2015 after Rai's arrest in a separate case. All accused in the case are currently out on bail.
