GUWAHATI: In a significant development for the Indian Police Service (IPS), several officers have been granted proforma promotions to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police in Super Time Scale-I, effective from January 1, 2024.
The promotions come as a recognition of their exemplary service in various capacities.
1. Dr Dhananjay Parshuram Ghanawat, IPS (RR-2010), Assistant Inspector General of Police (Admin.), Assam, Ulubari, Guwahati, has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.
2. Nilesh Tryambak Sawakare, IPS (RR-2010), Addl. Deputy Director, Intelligence Bureau (IB), New Delhi, currently on Central Deputation, has been granted proforma promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.
3. Rakesh Roushan, IPS (RR-2010), Superintendent of Police, National Investigation Agency (NIA), New Delhi, also on Central Deputation, has received a proforma promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.
4. Y. T. Gyatso, IPS (RR-2010), Director, Bureau for Monitoring Trial, Department of Home, Govt. of Sikkim, currently on Inter-State Deputation, has been granted proforma promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.
5. Rajveer, IPS (RR-2010), Superintendent of Police, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), New Delhi, currently on Central Deputation, has been accorded a proforma promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.
6. Mojibur Rahman, IPS (SPS-2010), Superintendent of Police (V&AC-I), Assam, Srimantapur, Guwahati, has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.
