Shikhar Dhawan ruled out of ICC World Cup for 3 weeks

GUWAHATI: Team India's top order batsman, Shikhar Dhawan, has been ruled out of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 for 3 weeks due to a thumb injury.

According to reports, Dhawan's thumb was fractured after being hit by a rising delivery from pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile. The injury was sustained during the cricketer's knock against the Aussies.

It should be mentioned that replacing Dhawan will pose as a tough choice for the Indian selectors now with little options to choose from.

The Indian cricket team is scheduled to face New Zealand on June 13 in their third match of the Cricket World Cup 2019.
