SEBA Reschedules TET Examination to January 2020

GUWAHATI: The Secondary Education Board of Assam made an announcement on December 20, revising the examination date of the High School Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) exam, which will be held on 19 January 2020.

Earlier, the examination was scheduled to be held on 22 December 2019 but was postponed due the massive protests across the state against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act. The TET examination also known as Medium TET for secondary level, will be held in five languages - Assamese, Hindi, Bengali, Manipuri and Bodo.

Due to the anarchical and alarming situation that prevailed across the state as the outcome of the protests, police firing, suspension of the Internet services and imposition of curfew and Section 144, all the examinations of the educational institutions across the state scheduled to be held from the first- second week of  December were postponed and will be held from 27 December and have been extended till January 2020.
