The operations resulted in the arrest of one individual identified as Binod Munda, also known as Sukkhwa, from the Khunti district of Jharkhand. Munda is alleged to be an armed cadre of the PLFI, a breakaway Naxal group, and is wanted in connection with four PLFI cases in Jharkhand.

During the searches, NIA teams recovered a range of incriminating materials, including PLFI-related documents, as well as two Walkie Talkies, five mobile phones, SIM cards, and ₹11,000 in cash.

Earlier in the case, two other individuals were arrested along with ₹3 lakh in cash, firearms, and ammunition.

The case, filed on October 11, 2023, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P)A), implicated one Martin Kerkatta and other PLFI members for attempting to revive the outfit following the arrest of its leader, Dinesh Gope, by the NIA.

According to NIA investigations, as part of the revival efforts, PLFI members and cadres were engaged in fundraising activities through extortion from coal traders, transporters, railway contractors, businessmen, and others in the states of Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.

The NIA has stated that further investigations into the case are ongoing.
