GUWAHATI: A road accident occurred on the morning of Saturday, January 18, in Umrangso, Dima Hasao, when a school bus transporting students to school plunged into a gorge, leading to the death of one student and leaving several others injured.

The deceased student has been identified as Dalmir Rongpi.
Speaking to Gplus, an official from Umrangso police station, said, “A road accident took place this morning when a school bus plunged into a gorge, resulting in the death of one student and injuries to several others. There were 18 students on board the bus. Three of the students sustained grievous injuries and are receiving medical treatment at Hamm Hospital in Hojai.”
