GUWAHATI: Sanjay Gaur has taken charge as the Inspector General of the BSF Guwahati Frontier.

A 1989 batch officer from the BSF cadre, Gaur began his career with the Border Security Force on May 15, 1989, as an Assistant Commandant.
Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in senior roles at the Force headquarters, along the India-Pakistan and Indo-Bangladesh borders, and in the militancy-affected regions of Jammu and Kashmir. Gaur has also served in the United Nations Mission in Kosovo.
After taking charge, Gaur stated the importance of effective border management to curb criminal activities along the Indo-Bangladesh border. He also focussed on the need to foster a sense of security among people living in border areas and stressed maintaining the strong and friendly relations between the border forces of both neighboring countries.
