The ₹2,000 crore project will span 500 acres along Airport Road and integrate AI-powered facilities, aiming to position Guwahati as a major hub for cinematic ventures.
Reddy confirmed that the necessary approvals from both central and state governments are underway. “I have applied for the required licenses, and the government has assured us of support,” he stated.
Highlighting the potential of Assam’s growing film industry, Reddy added, “Assam is receiving strong government support. The locality is ideal, and we want to bring globalization to Assam. Indian cinema has now become global.”
Once operational, the film city will enable filmmakers to produce movies in 120 languages, significantly boosting regional and national cinema. Reddy assured that the project once started will be completed within two years.
“Indian films will now be made from Guwahati once the film city is completed,” he said.
