Car Theft Ring Busted By Dispur Police, Three Arrested In Assam’s Tinsukia

 

GUWAHATI: Dispur police arrested three individuals from Tinsukia for their alleged involvement in a car theft racket that spanned across Assam, on Wednesday, April 30. The accused have been identified as Samarendra Singh, Aku Izam Yonovas, and Ashram Uniya. All three have been brought to the Dispur police station for further interrogation.

The gang operated by taking vehicles on rent from different locations under the guise of offering higher rental payments. Once in possession of the vehicles, they allegedly sold them in Manipur. The trio was in Tinsukia at the time of arrest, to rent another vehicle using the same method.

A similar case was reported in Guwahati, where a vehicle was taken on rent and never returned, raising suspicions and prompting investigation.

Speaking to GPlus, Dispur police confirmed the arrests and stated that the investigation is ongoing.
