Rs 1.5 cr seized from city trader

A team of investing agency led by Raunak Ali Hazarika seized Rs 1.5 crore in new currency from city trader identified as Hardeep Singh Bedi. The amount has been seized in new denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 from the residence of Bedi, located at Bhetapara area. As directed by Raunak Ali Hazarika, the IT department will now look into the authenticity of the source of the money. Bedi, who claimed the money to be legal is being quizzed. If Bedi is found to be have opted any dubious means to collect that money, IT department would take actions accordinhly, said sources from the CID dept.
