GUWAHATI: Two persons were killed in a road accident that occurred in Rangjuli, Goalpara on the night of December 5.
According to official reports, a truck driver and his handyman lost their lives when their truck collided with a tree along the roadside yesterday night. The accident occurred as the truck was reportedly on its way to Guwahati.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from Rangjuli Police Station said, “We suspect that the driver lost control, causing the truck to veer off the National Highway and crash into a large tree. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the immediate death of both the driver and the handyman.”
As per reports, the truck also suffered significant damage in the accident. The incident took place near Marapara village, close to National Highway 17 in Rangjuli. Upon receiving information about the mishap, Rangjuli police reached the scene to recover the bodies for post-mortem examination. Further details are awaited.
