GUWAHATI: A Bengaluru court on Sunday remanded Karnataka Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) HD Revanna to the custody of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for three days in connection with a kidnapping case tied to sexual assault allegations involving his son, Prajwal Revanna. The remand order was issued by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ravindrakumar M. Kattimani, keeping Revanna in SIT custody until May 8.
Revanna's arrest by the SIT followed the denial of his anticipatory bail by Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge Santhosh Gajanan Bhatt on Sunday. The kidnapping case is the second criminal charge against the MLA in recent days, arising from sexual abuse allegations related to his son, Hassan Lok Sabha member Prajwal Revanna.

According to reports, HD Revanna was booked on the complaint alleging the kidnapping of a victim who worked as a house help at his residence. The victim was allegedly kidnapped to prevent her from testifying against Prajwal Revanna, accused of sexually assaulting multiple women.
The sexual assault allegations against Prajwal Revanna surfaced after more than 2,900 videos depicting sexual assaults on several women circulated on social media. The SIT, led by senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer BK Singh, is investigating the case and has summoned Prajwal Revanna for questioning.

Amidst the public outcry, Prajwal Revanna reportedly fled to Germany shortly after the April 26 polls in Karnataka. In his first communication since the allegations emerged, Prajwal Revanna, through a post on X (formerly Twitter), stated that he was "not in Bangalore" and requested more time to appear before the SIT.
HD Revanna filed for anticipatory bail on the same day he withdrew an earlier bail plea in a sexual abuse case registered against him. His son Prajwal Revanna's disappearance has fuelled public outrage and intensified scrutiny of the ongoing investigation.
