Retired Air Force Officer Commits Suicide, Pens Suicide Note To PM Modi

GUWAHATI: A retired Air Force officer from Assam committed suicide at a hotel in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh and left a suicide note addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi wherein he blamed former Finance minister P. Chidambaram for the current economic condition of the country. 

The deceased has been identified as Bijan Das (55). 

Based on reports, he wrote a 5-page long letter wherein he stated that the Modi government is not to be blamed for the slowdown of the Indian economy. 

The retired Air Force officer hanged himself in a hotel room where he was staying at since September 6. He was discovered by hotel staff after an attendant informed the manager that Das had not left the room for the entire day.

In addition to the suicide note, Das left Rs. 1500 for his own cremation and Rs. 500 for the rent of the room.  

In his letter, he blamed the UPA government for scams and financial mismanagement and said that because of the slowdown, he could not do anything else after his retirement. He also mentioned not being able to do something for his young son who is a singer in a popular singing reality show. 

Further, Das requested Allahabad administration to not call his family for his cremation, however, police have contacted the family for further investigation.
