GUWAHATI: A man attempted to take his own life by jumping off the Saraighat Bridge in Guwahati on Thursday, March 20, but was saved by local residents. According to reports, he was seen hanging from the bridge’s railing for a long time before being rescued.
The man, a resident of Maligaon, was later taken to the police station. The reason behind this act is unknown.
A traffic police official, stated, “Vehicles coming from Guwahati alerted us that a man was hanging from the railing, attempting to jump. I immediately informed the Jalukbari police station, but before they could arrive, local residents managed to rescue him. He has since been taken to the police station.”
