GUWAHATI: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced an interim surplus of Rs 28000 crore for the year 2019-20 on Monday.
This is the second consecutive year that the central bank has announced an interim budget. During the previous financial year, the RBI had given Rs 10,000 crore as interim surplus to the central government.
The dividend paid by the RBI to the centre is the profits made from its operations each year.
