₹26 Lakh Worth YABA Tablets Seized In Hailakandi; Two Held

 

GUWAHATI: Police in Hailakandi recovered 8,600 YABA tablets with an approximate street value of  ₹26 lakh and apprehended two persons, on Tuesday, April 30.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team, led by Officer-in-Charge of Hailakandi Police Station Bishnu Baruah, launched an operation in the Thandapur area of the town in south Assam.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped and thoroughly searched which revealed the cache of narcotics.

In addition to the narcotics, the police also confiscated ₹80,000 in cash believed to be linked to the illicit activities. 

Two persons identified as Anam Uddin Laskar and Abdul Rauf, were apprehended by the police and are currently held in custody in Panchgram.
