Ration Card Holders To Get ₹5 Lakh Health Insurance In Assam

GUWAHATI: During his address at the inaugural ceremony of AIIMS Guwahati, the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that every ration card holder in the state of Assam will be eligible to avail of financial aid for healthcare through Ayushman Bharat Schemes.

CM Sarma stated that every ration card holder in the state will now be able to avail of a total amount of ₹5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme for healthcare, annually.

“The Ayushman Bharat cards will be delivered to the homes of 1 crore 10 lakh people in Assam starting today,” CM Sarma further added.

“This was the vision of our Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya that every person and every household should have an Ayushman Bharat card to avail healthcare services in the state,” Assam CM stated further.

The Chief Minister further stated that 1 crore 10 lakh cards have been prepared as of now and the distribution will start from today, and in the next 1 and a half months, the entire population comprising of 3 crore 30 lakh people will be delivered the Ayushman Bharat cards.

“Every cardholder will be able to avail healthcare services in any hospital in the state of Assam, be it AIIMS or a medical college or any other private hospital,” CM Sarma also stated.
