GUWAHATI: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh calls for a meeting at New Delhi on 31 January with chief ministers of Northeastern states to discuss the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016.
According to reports, the meeting will be held in New Delhi at 3 pm on January 31.

Earlier on 29 January, a meeting was held in Guwahati for Chief ministers of northeastern states to oppose the Citizenship (Amendment), Bill.
It is to be mentioned that the chief minister of Meghalaya and Mizoram along with the representative parties of Tripura, Assam, Nagaland which are allied with BJP will discuss on the matter of the bill with the President and Prime minister.
