Pickup Truck Stolen From Lalmati Recovered; 4 Arrested

 

GUWAHATI: A pickup vehicle, reported stolen from Lalmati's Action Kata area, has been recovered by police from a village in Tamulpur district. The recovery follows an investigation by the Basistha Police Station into the theft reported by Subodh Giri, a resident of Bikash Nagar, Bidya Mandir Path, in an FIR lodged on Friday, May 3.

According to the FIR, the vehicle was stolen around 1 am on May 2. The Basistha Police registered a case and began their investigation, which led to the arrest of three suspected car lifters — 21-year-old Sona Miya, 35-year-old Taher Ali, and 35-year-old Mahar Ali, all from Sarthebari, Barpeta.

Based on the interrogation of the detained suspects, police also apprehended a 38-year-old man identified as Nurul Islam from Kamrup. He is believed to be the receiver of the stolen vehicle.
