GUWAHATI: The diesel price hike is going to pinch the denizens of Guwahati further hard as public transport in the city is expected to become expensive from next month.
The All Assam motor transport association (AAMTA) has decided to hike the bus fare effective October 3.
The announcement was made on Friday in a press statement in which the association has decided to hike bus fare by 50 percent.
The minimum bus fare of the city buses in Guwahati will be Rs 7.50 and that of Magic’s will be Rs 15.
As there is no sign of reduction of diesel prices, the bus owners were finding it difficult to ply their vehicles.
