Poor Service By SBI ATMs In Guwahati Annoys Customers

GUWAHATI: Guwahati State Bank of India (SBI) customers are irked at the ATM services provided by the bank as most of these in the past few days were either out of order or out of cash.
“I always face problems withdrawing cash from the SBI ATMs as most of the machines on the AK Azad Road are usually dysfunctional,” said Sanjay Saha, a resident of Jyotikuchi. He further expressed that the two ATMs below SBI Jyotikuchi branch are mostly out of order despite repeated complaints to the manager.

Another resident of Jyotikuchi talking to GPlus said that fed up with the pathetic service by SBI ATMs at Jyotikuchi, he raised the issue on his social media (X) handle on  18th March. “The SBI official handle replied that the issue will be resolved soon, but till March 31st the issue was not resolved and I raised the issue again on 31st March,” said the resident.
A GPlus team visited the ATMs on 2nd April (at 10 am) and both were still non-operational. While one ATM was out of order another was out of cash.
Asked about the issue, the branch manager of SBI Jyotikuchi, Roshan Kumar Ravi, said, “I have many times raised the issue, and I will raise the issue again with the authorities concerned,” adding that there are some technical glitches which need to be addressed.

The same day, a senior SBI official working with the ATM department in the bank’s head office told GPlus that the issue was resolved at Jyotikuchi, but if it was not then he would look into the matter again.
The GPlus team visited all the ATMs on AK Azad Road (From Paltan Bazar to Lokhra), and it was found that only two (one in Lal Ganesh and one in Lokhra) were functioning.
Many customers across the city complain about poor ATM service.
The bank authorities, however, disagreed that all the ATMs were dysfunctional while asserting only a few were down because of technical issues.
