GUWAHATI: A police official was apprehended by the Directorate of Vigilance And Anti-Corruption, Assam (DVAC) on March 10 on alleged charges of bribery in Silchar.

The individual identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Noman Uddin Ahmed of Ghungoor Police Outpost was trapped after he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe from the complainant for handing over the stolen motorcycle of the complainant.

DVAC, Assam took to X, “Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped ASI Noman Uddin Ahmed of Ghungoor OP under Silchar PS, Dist-Cachar, after he accepted the demanded bribe from the complainant for handing over the stolen motorcycle of the complainant.”
