GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded northeasterners for their efforts of making business out of local produce and helping daily wagers during the time of the pandemic.
In his monthly programme Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister said that a man named Sudip, from Assam, wrote to him saying that he would turn his bamboo-based handicraft business into a global brand in two years.

He also praised Gautam Das, a vegetable vendor, for providing rice and pulses to the poor by using his meagre daily earnings during the lockdown period.
Modi further added that the ‘Atma-Nirbhar-Bharat' mission of self-reliance would take the country to newer heights this decade.
