PM Modi kickstarts Northeast Visit

GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was received by Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport on February 8.

On February 9, PM Modi will head to Arunachal Pradesh where he is scheduled to lay the foundation of the greenfield airport at Hollongi in Parum Pare district, inaugurate a 110 MW hydroelectric project, and lay the foundation of Sella Tunnel.

Post the events Modi is expected to be in Changsari in Guwahati, whereby he is scheduled to lay the foundation of a four-lane bridge over river Brahmaputra, inaugurate Numaligarh Refinery’s bio-diesel unit, the Barauni-Guwahati gas pipeline project, North East gas grid, last but not the least inaugurating the construction work of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), and venue of his public meeting.

Finally, the Prime Minister will address a public meeting in Agartala and unveil the statue late king Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur at the airport, inaugurate the 23-kilometre railway track between Gomati’s district’s Garjee and Belonia in South Tripura.
