GUWAHATI: Officials of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday, May 14, detained two individuals identified as Amandeep Singh and Rinku Kumar for illegally transporting phensedyl in huge quantity.
The consignment, along with the persons detained, were recovered from Brahmaputra parking lot in Beharbari area in Guwahati.
According to the officials, the truck used fake registration number to transport the consignment.

Speaking to G Plus, Deva Dutta, DSP CID said, "Following a tip-off, we came to visit the Brahmaputra parking lot and then inspected the truck, which was loaded with 2,300 bottles of phensedyl that were due to be transported to Agartala."
According to Dutta, each of the phensedyl bottle costs Rs.140, but, they are sold at a whooping price of Rs 500 per in the black market.
Officials are carrying out further investigation into the matter.
