The decision to stage the protest closure stems from grievances regarding the lack of enhancement or revision in the Dealers Commission since 2017, among other demands.

NEIPDA highlighted concerns over the escalating expenses incurred in operating Retail Outlets (ROs), coupled with the absence of necessary adjustments in commission rates.

Despite raising these issues with oil companies via a letter dated February 3, 2024, NEIPDA asserts that no response has been received from the companies.

To bring attention to their plight and advocate for their demands, NEIPDA has formally notified the strike bringing about a temporary halt to the sale and purchase of petroleum in the region.
