Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve to Reopen on November 1

GUWAHATI: After Kaziranga National Park and Manas National Park, now the Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve will finally be opened for visitors on 1st November after eight months of closure.


This was informed in a press communiqué issued by DFO, Wildlife, Mangaldai Division on 20th October.


Located in Darrang district, Orang National Park is the oldest game reserve of the State with an area of 78.80 sq. kms.  It is an important breeding ground for a variety of fishes.


It is also known as mini Kaziranga, and is presently home to 101 Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros, and pigmy hog, elephants, wild buffalo, and tigers.
