GUWAHATI: A youth lost his life after an accident in Guwahati’s AT Road Flyover on the wee hours of Saturday, November 16 around 12:30- 1:00 AM.
Locals alleged that the boy was hit by a GMC dumper that was plying in the city without number plate.
"The boy, who seemed to be around 25 years old, died on the spot. Soon after the accident, a patrolling car came. But neither did it have a number plate nor was the driver wearing seat belt so the locals didn't trust the men dressed in khaki," a resident of AT Road told G Plus.
After the implementation of the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, while most of the common public have started following traffic rules diligently, it seems that the authorities are themselves breaking rules.
The body has been taken to GMCH for postmortem. Further details awaited.
