A subsequent search of the suspect’s residence in Tetelia led to the seizure of 12 ATM cards, six bank passbooks, and 10 mobile handsets. All the items are believed to have been used in facilitating fraudulent activities.

Preliminary investigations also revealed that Hussain was operating a large racket, specialising in creating “mule” bank accounts. These accounts were reportedly used by cybercriminals to siphon money from unsuspecting victims under the guise of cyber scams.

Hussain, 41, is suspected of playing a pivotal role in enabling these crimes by providing the accounts through which funds were funneled.

Police have initiated legal proceedings, and further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the racket, and identify other individuals involved in the operation.
