The PWD (Roads) has been given strict instructions to complete all relevant roadworks by October 9. Construction zones, particularly the Elevated Corridor from Guwahati Club to Noonmati, the Cycle Factory Junction, and the Downtown Hospital area, are to be closely monitored to ensure they remain dust-free and hazard-free for commuters. A permanent team of engineers has been assigned to supervise these projects and ensure the quality and timeliness of the work.

Over the next four days, strict monitoring of service lanes around flyover construction sites will be carried out, with violations by contractors penalised under existing legal provisions. Authorities have emphasised the urgent need to address potholes in critical areas, including the Ulubari flyover, with the option of using paver blocks to ensure a swift and lasting solution.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, Special Commissioner PWD (Roads), DC Kamrup Metro, GMDA CEO, GMC Commissioner, Guwahati Jal Board, Guwahati Utilities Corporation, and Smart City Corporation.
