GUWAHATI: The State Housing and Urban Department of the Government of Assam has announced a series of transfers ahead of the upcoming 2024 General Elections, as announced in a notification today.
The notification stated, “In pursuance of instruction of Election Commission of India’s letter No.437/6/1/INST/ECI/FUNCT/MCC/2023, dated 21.12.2023 in connection with transfer and posting, the Governor of Assam is pleased to transfer the following officials of Department of Housing and Urban Affairs under the Directorate of Town & Country Planning, Assam in the same capacity and to post them at the places as shown against their names with immediate effect.”
As per the notification, Subhasish Borah has been transferred to the Disrict Office at Guwahati as the Assistant Director of Town & Country Planning and Jebina Yasmin has been transferred to Nalbari.
Govinda Sonowal, the Assistant Director of Town & Country Planning at District Office Nalbari has been transferred to the District Office at Bongaigaon, while Biren Swargiary, the Deputy Director of Town & Country Planning at the District Office Kokrajhar has been transferred to the District Office at Tezpur, and Jati Jiban Bora, the current Deputy Director of Town & Country Planning at District Office in Tezpur has been transferred to Nagaon.
The Deputy Director of Town & Country Planning Santanu Das currently posted at the District Office in Dhubri, has been given the additional charge of the post of Deputy Director Kokrajhar, while Bikramaditya Baruah, the Assistant Director of Town & Country Planning at District Office in Jorhat has been transferred to the District Office at North Lakhimpur while Diganta Puzari has been transferred to Golaghat.
B.M Krishnthumar Lahon, the Assistant Director of Town & Country Planning at District Office, Dibrugarh, has been transferred to the District Office in Diphu, while Dipankar Saikia, the Assistant Director of Town & Country Planning at Dhubri has been transferred to the District Office at Jorhat and Achinta Prabhab Boruah, the Assistant Director of Town & Country Planning at District Office, Kokrajhar has been transferred and hereby posted to the District Office of Barpeta.
