Northeast projects worth Rs. 3,500 crore to be fully funded by Centre

GUWAHATI: Addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the second meeting of the ‘NITI Forum for North East’, DoNER Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the centre is fully funding all new projects in the region. The total worth of the projects is Rs. 3,500 crore at this stage.

Earlier, central projects under DoNER ministry were funded in the 90:10 ratio, in which the state had to bear 10% of the cost.

Henceforth, all projects for the eight states in the region will be completely funded by the Centre.

Projects worth Rs. 10,200 crore taken up by the Centre are expected to be completed by the end of the next financial year.
