GUWAHATI: The North East Writers' Forum released its annual in-house journal 'NEW FRONTIERS' for the year 2020, on 27th December.
The journal was released by Padma Shri awardee Dhirendra Nath Bezboruah, who is also the Forum’s founder President, at its office in the Tarun Ram Phookan Sports Indoor Stadium at Ulubari. Also present were the current office bearers and members of the forum.
Some of the poets/authors who feature in New Frontiers 2020 are Arup Dutta, Mamang Dai, Mona Zote, Robin Ngangom, Desmond Kharmawphlang, Tashi Chophel, Guru Ladakhi, Anjum Hasan, Tarun Bhartiya, Monalisa Changkija, Nitoo Das, Namrata Pathak, Chetan Shrestha, Sukla Sinha, Lalnungsanga Ralte, Cherrie Changte and others. The cover design is by Sri Pankaj Thapa (Sikkim), cartoonist of international repute.
An online journal, with the same name, will also feature on a bi-annual basis beginning January 2021.
North East Writers’ Forum (NEWF) was established in 1997. It aims to encourage creative writings in English as well as translations of creative works from the regional languages of the northeast to English and vice versa.
