Guwahati: Normal life in several parts of the city was severely affected in the wake of Bharat Bandh called by Congress to protest against the price hike.
The city has witnessed very less public transport plying on the streets this morning.
Several shops have decided to remain closed, including many petrol pumps of the city.

However, many private schools and colleges are operational and no 'bandh' was observed among the banks either.
The bandh has strictly been observed in areas like Zoo Road, Athgaon, Fancy Bazar. Although several shops opened this morning, they were forced to shut down immediately.
