GUWAHATI: Businesses operating under Gaon Panchayat areas of Assam will not require a trade licence except a few institutions, informed Minister Pijush Hazarika to reporters on Monday, March 7. This was decided after a Cabinet Meeting, stated the Minister.
However, liquor shops dealing in India (country) and foreign liquor, educational establishments, nursing homes, brick kilns and any industry that results in pollution, and mobile towers will require a trade licence to operate in Gaon Panchayat areas.
Small businesses, small industries, and shops will not require a trade licence to operate.
Also, no building permission is required in the Gaon Panchayat areas from now. But for underdevelopment authority areas, building permission will be required.
