GUWAHATI: Winter seems to be on hold for Guwahati and its neighbouring districts, as temperatures remain unusually high for November. Typically, this time of year brings a cool nip in the air, but so far, there’s no sign of the season's arrival.

On November 18, Guwahati recorded a maximum temperature of 30°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the high temperatures will persist until at least November 24. The minimum temperature is expected to hover between 17°C and 19°C during this period.
Adding to the unusual weather, no foggy mornings are forecast in Guwahati until November 22, a stark contrast to the typical November weather.
Other parts of Assam are also experiencing elevated temperatures. On November 18, Silchar recorded 29°C, Goalpara 22°C, Golaghat 21°C, Jorhat 27°C, and North Lakhimpur 28°C.
Residents used to pulling out their woolens by mid-November are left waiting as the region’s winter chill remains elusive.
