Applicants eligible for new cards are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this extended deadline and submit their applications.

The NFSA, implemented in India in 2013, has been a lifeline for millions of people across the country by providing subsidised food grains to a significant portion of the population. The scheme has been particularly beneficial for the most vulnerable sections of society, including those living below the poverty line, women, children, and the elderly.

In Assam, over 60 lakh families receive free food grains every month under the NFSA scheme. This has helped alleviate hunger and malnutrition, and improved the overall nutritional status of the state's population.

Those who have not yet applied for NFSA cards are urged to do so before the deadline. The process is relatively simple and can be completed online or through designated government offices.

For more information, applicants can contact the relevant authorities or visit the official NFSA website on nfsa.gov.in.
