GUWAHATI: In a bid to facilitate passenger travel, the Northeast Frontier Railway has introduced several one-way special trains operating between key destinations. These special trains are designed for a single trip and will connect Silchar to Kanpur Central and Agartala to Kolkata railway stations.
The first special train, numbered 05618 (Silchar – Kanpur Central), will depart from Silchar at 18:45 hours on December 17, 2023 (Sunday) and reach Kanpur Central at 07:45 hours on December 19, 2023 (Tuesday). The route for this journey includes New Haflong, Guwahati, Goalpara Town, Kokrajhar, Kishanganj, Katihar Jn., Barauni Jn., and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn.
The second special train, numbered 05647 (Agartala – Kolkata), will depart from Agartala at 15:10 hours on December 16, 2023 (Saturday) and reach Kolkata at 02:10 hours on December 18, 2023 (Monday). The train will run through New Karimganj, New Haflong, Guwahati, Kokrajhar, Kishanganj, Katwa, and Bandel.
Furthermore, due to the commissioning of a double line between Barabanki – Ayodhya Cantt. – Shahganj Jn. – Zafarabad section over the Lucknow division of Northern Railway, certain trains will be canceled or partially canceled on specified dates.
